Proposal for MCI/SDU based Ph.D. project areas in relation to refrigeration and heat pump technology.
The group in mathematical modeling at MCI/SDU suggests, in the following, a list of possible areas within which we can supervise and participate to define Ph.D. projects in relation to refrigeration and heat pump technology.
A model is suggested, where one or more companies agree to a certain area and then together with KVCA and researchers from MCI/SDU define a specific Ph.D. project. The company(ies) then provides financing for the Ph.D. candidate who will be employed at MCI/SDU for a period of three years where the project will be completed.
An alternative model could be for a single company to enter the Danish industrial Ph.D. program with a project – also within the listed areas.
1)
Modeling and simulation of processes, components or systems within refrigeration and heat pump technologyDetailed modeling of basic processes in heat transfer components including two-phase flow, flashing /expansion, condensation and dynamic effects. Models of thermo- or micro-mechanical components.
2)
Sensor applications for refrigeration technologyInvestigation of possible methods for sensing quantities such as pressure, temperature, humidity, mass flow/volume flow, the amount of refrigerant content in the complete cooling system, level of oil contamination, vapor quality, etc. in various types of refrigeration systems including domestic and industrial systems.
3)
Acoustic diagnosis of compressor performance and refrigeration applicationsInvestigation of acoustic methods to detect the performance of compressor dynamic characteristics – production line fault detection or component fault detection in running applications.
4)
Modeling of nucleation and cavitation processes
Investigation of nucleation and subsequent cavitation or flashing processes.
Interessetilkendegivelse
